Contract Administrator

£18 - £20 per hour

Mix of home and office working

Offices - Hounslow

Initial temp - potential to go permanent

You will ensure contract administration processes and procedures are implemented and managed and reviewed across the Property & Building Services directorate. You will support the management of contracts across the Property & Building Services directorate and support procurement and tendering of contracts. You will manage a team of Contract Administrators and delivery contract administration services across the directorate


  • Assist the management and administration of all contracts within the Property & Building Services directorate.
  • Provide the day-to-day administration and financial management to contracts, programmes and projects across the Property & Building Services directorate.
  • Be responsible for managing a range of databases and spreadsheets ensuring accurate input and maintenance of information databases on a daily basis.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and communication across the Property & Building Services directorate.
  • Work proactively to resolve issues, complaints, member enquiries and other case work. In addition, to identify emerging risks and implement mitigating action.
  • Liaise with Contractors regarding work carried out to ensure timescales and standards are met.
  • Be responsible for raising internal orders and external works orders and dealing with requests for purchase orders, ensuring the timely processing of orders and associated paperwork. This includes liaison with contractors and ensuring accurate records of works undertaken are maintained.
  • Ensure that there are robust controls in place to ensure that income is correctly recovered and that safeguards exist over all expenditure.
  • Facilitate the payment of invoices and purchase orders and ensure financial standing orders are followed when obtaining quotes or purchasing items for contractors, escalating areas of overspend, underperformance, or general concern as required.
  • Manage a range of associated requests, including setting up new accounts and direct debits and arranging refunds, adjustments, and cancellations as required.
  • Lead the team in performing general administrative, financial management, and office support duties and responding to daily requests and queries in a timely manner.


  • Experience of working in a Contracts Supportive role within the housing industry would be hugely beneficial
  • You will bring very significant experience of business partnering across organisations, ideally with experience from a number of sectors.
  • You know how to communicate expertly. Your ability to engage with complex concepts and issues and communicate these clearly and simply is one of your strengths.
  • You will have led and contributed to the delivery of transformational change.
  • You'll have deep experience of developing excellent relationships with senior leaders and you can prove that you've developed with them strategic and tactical solutions to people management and development challenges and opportunities
