Head of HR & OD

Up to £85000 per annum

Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Head of HR & OD for a London based, independent charity. This role is on a fixed term contract basis for 3 - 4 months and is paying circa £85,000 pa. As the Head of HR & OD you will be able to work flexibly with at least one day in the office. The role will be covering a gap while the organisation recruits permanently and is starting ASAP. There are 7 direct reports into this position and the organisation has around 200 employees in total.

The immediate challenges facing this role as Head of HR & OD are:

  • Supporting the organisation as it transitions to new working arrangements to support hybrid working.

    The organisation has embarked on an ambitious overhaul of the working arrangements giving people more flexibility over where and when they work. This role joins at a point where we they are rolling out the new framework, expecting to go live with it in October. In tandem they will have updated our flexible working policy.

  • Leading and managing the HR team.

    Acting as a leader, motivator as well as providing technical support.

  • Providing management support for the programme on diversity and inclusion.

    This programme is well developed and run by a dedicated manager, who also runs our wellbeing programme.

  • Providing management support for the wellbeing programme

  • Providing management support for the Leadership program

    This programme is also well developed and run by an OD partner.

Person Specification for the Head of HR & OD:

  • Experience of the development and execution of people agenda to support the business strategy
  • A track record in building and managing strong and credible relationships at senior leadership team levels and ability to effectively challenge and influence at this level
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business requirements into progressive people-focused priorities for a business in growth
  • Strong curiosity and business understanding, putting HR and people related issues into the context of addressing business issues and or opportunities
  • An awareness of working with a mission-driven, not-for-profit organisation with similar dimensions
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to adapt your style, think on your feet and have a can-do mentality
  • A high level of influencing skills, stakeholder management, diplomacy and adaptability in a changing, complex and uncertain environment
