Senior Corporate Communications Manager - Permanent - London/Hybrid - Up to £55,000 (DOE)

Morgan Hunt are working with a well-known housing association who are recruiting for their new Senior corporate communications manager to join their established team.

This is an exciting position suited to an experienced senior corporate communications manager or communications manager looking to take the next step in their career.

As the Senior corporate communications manager you will be responsible for;

  • Contribute towards the development of external communications strategies and lead on the delivery of the external communications programme across the Group and monitor, review and report on performance.
  • To act as business partner for key areas of the business and to build strong stakeholder relationships, providing advice and support and ensuring a consistent approach to external communications.
  • Media relations: Proactive and reactive media relations including managing press enquiries, developing and selling-in news and features, building relationships with journalists, providing media advice and interview support, filming requests, risk management and reporting, crisis communications and media evaluation.
  • Public affairs: Co-ordinate engagement with councillors and MPs through our public affairs function, develop and maintain a forward plan of activities, public relations evaluation.
  • To manage and develop the PR & Press Officer, putting in place a formal Professional Development Plan.
  • Assist the Head of Corporate Communications with the overall management of the Corporate Communications Team and deputise in their absence. This includes:
  • Leading on crisis and business continuity incidents and ensure the correct systems, procedures and processes etc are up to date, people know how to use them and the department is familiar with the role in the event of a crisis.
  • Reviewing and approving internal and external communications where appropriate (in the absence of Head of Corporate Communications)

Skills and Experience needed your role as the Senior corporate communications officer;

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. in internal communications) or equivalent
  • Significant knowledge and experience in planning, managing and delivering press and external communication work programmes within a large, complex organisation, including:
  • Media relations (inc. interview guidance/training)
  • Issues/crisis management
  • Project and programme management, including briefs, plans, delivery and evaluation, working with peers and colleagues across different departments
  • Proven team leadership and line management experience
  • Providing expert advice and designing solutions to improve communications
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to provide advice and guidance for stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills, with good grammar and literacy
  • Brand management, ensuring communications are delivered in line with the Group's tone of voice and corporate identity
  • Good knowledge and experience across internal communications.
