Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a well-known Healthcare Membership Body based in London, in their search for a temporary External Affairs Assistant to support the Policy & Public Affairs Team to deliver key initiatives, campaigns and member communications.

You will be responsible for monitoring, managing and contributing to the organisations Twitter account, and other social media platforms through the promotion of informative materials (including graphics, videos and factsheets). You will also be responsible for providing administration and secretarial support to the team, including arranging and minuting meetings as well as producing and distributing materials.

The ideal candidate with have an interest or knowledge of Policy & Public Affairs - particularly Health Policy and will be experienced within the use to Social Media (including Twitter) and other platforms to promote initiatives and priorities. You will have a creative mindset, with the ability to produce informative materials (graphics and videos) that engage a wide range of audiences.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, creative and well-communicated candidate, with the ability to pick up policy areas quickly and take on a range of supportive duties. The position is a part-time fixed-term contract until end of March 2022 with potential extension.

Location: Remote & London (Hybrid)

Annual Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 (Pro-Rata)

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (until end March 2022)

Hours: Part-Time (21 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Responsibilities

  • ​Provide a range of support to the Policy & Public Affairs Team to deliver key initiatives, campaigns and member communications
  • To monitor and manage day-to-day content relating to Twitter and other Social Media Platforms - contributing with promotional materials (graphics & videos)
  • To promote key priorities including careers promotions, Parliament website petitions and promoting diversity
  • Project Manage the production of factsheets and monthly awareness even notes as well as contributing to the webinar programme
  • Provide administration and secretariat support - including arranging meetings, minuting meetings, producing and distributing materials

Personal Specification

  • Knowledge of key policy & public affairs functions
  • Experience using twitter and other social media platforms as an awareness and promotion tool
  • Experience copy writing and producing promotion materials - including infographics, policy statements, briefings & notes
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Organised self-starter with a creative mindset
  • Ability to produce informative material for a range of different audiences
