Morgan Hunt are currently working with a national facilities provider, in their search for M&E estimators.
Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Estimator
Location: National, can be based anywhere
Salary: £75k
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Cost estimation.
- Responsible for the pricing schedule for new business for Soft & Hard FM Services, working closely with the relevant business functions.
- Responsible for the on-going review of the commercial model for the existing portfolio in relation to Soft & Hard FM delivery.
- Responsible for standardising the pricing model and ensuring it is implemented consistently across the business.
- Supporting the finance workstream with the customer billing initiatives.
- Support the standardisation of supplier schedule of rates.
- Perform site visits as required to compile accurate information to inform new business proposals.
- Ensure the cost model for Soft & Hard FM proposal provides the best value for the customers and to the business.
- Preparing the cost components of the proposal, including understanding of the scope, planning and personnel in partnership with the required business functions.
- Labour load service contracts in accordance with the Maintenance Framework and influence the best practice around resource modelling.
- Ensure the timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound business proposals.
- Develop the schedule of rates for all subcontracted services, working closely with Procurement and Operational colleagues.
- Support customer billing initiatives through continuous review of the Soft & Hard FM delivery.
- Conduct and complete a full asset dilapidation report where necessary and share the findings with the Infrastructure Asset Management workstream.
- Work closely with the business growth/development team, providing visibility of the pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Influence and align to best practices across other pricing models for other FM services.
Personal Specification
Experience
- Minimum five years of experience working within the M&E Maintenance sector and within a similar role
- Experience of Cost Estimation
- Minimum one year of experience in performing site audits and M&E installation assessments
- Previous experience working with CONCEPT evolution be beneficial but not mandatory
Qualifications
- GCSE or HNC is essential
- Qualified in an engineering or building services discipline desirable
- Professional qualifications and professional body memberships preferable (RICS)
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of Cost Estimation
- Sound knowledge on Soft & hard FM services
- Practical understanding on planned and reactive maintenance
- Good knowledge on mechanical and electrical installations
- Sound and practical knowledge on labour loading and resource modelling
- Excellent analytical and commercial awareness
- Familiarisation with SFG20 maintenance standards
- Familiarisation of HTM specifications and safe systems of work
- Familiarisation with FM cost modelling
