Money Advisor

£14.00 - £16.00 per hour

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Money Advisor on a temporary basis with the possibility of extending to permanent. Our client is a social housing provider based in Salford. The role is 70% working from home and 30% in the office or out seeing tenants.

The Role

A a Money advsior you will engage and assist tenants who are experiencing financial hardship to enable them to successfully sustain their tenancy through intensive debt, welfare benefits and money advice.

To ensure the delivery of the company's income maximisation strategy, raising awareness and promoting products to support the financial well-being of their tenants.

Champion our clients' response to welfare reform and benefit changes to ensure the impacts of these are effectively mitigated.

To effectively advise tenants and support the team on all aspects of housing, welfare benefits and Money/Debt advice through an in-depth knowledge of benefits practice and legislation

What you'll need

  • Minimum 2 years Money Advisor experience in the Social Housing sector
  • Experience of working in a busy social housing environment
  • Experience of providing debt advice, financial inclusion and welfare benefits with the aim of maximising tenants' income
  • Keep up to date with any changes in legislation and regulations that affect the payment of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other benefits
  • Experience of working with people with support needs
  • Experience developing relationships with the public, internal teams and outside agencies
  • Knowledge of Welfare Reform
  • In depth awareness & understanding of Financial Inclusion
  • Provide appropriate advice and training for staff on welfare benefits, other benefit related issues, financial inclusion and money advice
  • Experience of working with tenants face to face
  • Experience of using Aareon QL housing system (desirable)
  • Experience of using Advice Pro Case Management software (desirable)
