Moodle Developer - Fully Remote

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Moodle Developer on a contract basis for an initial 6 months. The position is with one of our established HE clients and is fully remote.

Rate: £475-£525pd - Outside IR35

Location: Fully Remote

Duties Include;

1. Contribute to the development and direction of the University's Teaching and Learning Systems, in accordance with University's strategic requirements and legislation.
2. Within a small cross-functional team, act as the technical lead for Moodle.
3. Provide expert advice on the functions of Moodle that could meet organisational needs.
4. Provide applications integration and development advice.
5. Develop and support Moodle systems architecture, understanding the impact of any software developments and ensuring interoperability is maximised.
6. In consultation with the wider team, develop and support key Moodle technical and administrative processes e.g. upgrades.
7. Write software code and integrate applications into Moodle which are written, configured, versioned, managed and documented to agreed standards.
8. Use appropriate modelling techniques, and follow agreed software design standards, patterns and methodology.
9. Apply organisational style and design requirements and templates, and ensure compliance with relevant accessibility legislation.
10. Following design, document Moodle set-up and ongoing operation.
11. Provide second and third line support as required.

Skills/Experience Required;

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Moodle Developer / Moodle System Administrator - including experience with site upgrades and custom theming

• Knowledge of the PHP programming language

• Knowledge of CSS / SCSS

• Knowledge of MySQL / MariaDB
