Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently on the lookout for a Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor on a permanent basis for our client based in North London. The successful candidate will be carrying out reactive day to day repairs on their properties and also deliver the cyclical works programme. Please see further duties below:

  • Work as part of the Repairs and Asset Team to provide a comprehensive and effective high quality surveying service, applying technical knowledge and drawing on experience to ensure that works programmes and responsive repairs are cost effective and of a high standard.
  • Delivering the planned capital/cyclical works programme(s) including pre and post inspections, preparing specifications/ drawings, preparing tenders, managing works in progress, resident consultation, ensuring work is H&S complaint.
  • To supervise contracts for responsive repairs, major /cyclical works and servicing to ensure quality of work and response times are contractually compliant Uphold our values working collaboratively with colleagues across the Association.
  • Be responsible for pre and post inspections, quality control, signing work off and checking invoices in liaison with the Finance Department Controlling and monitoring progress on sites, monthly valuations and certification of payments for the various contracts.
  • Monitor effectively disrepair and insurance claims Maintaining the Associations management system/stock condition database, as well as carrying-out property inspections and stock condition surveys/EPC inspections Carry out post contract completion inspections (including new development schemes), snagging in conjunction with consultants, as appropriate, arranging for and supervising defects.
  • Maintaining an appropriate list of approved contractors Assist with the development of the annual departmental budget and plan.
  • Carry out inspections, diagnose repairs, prepare specification and use NHF Schedule of Rates to specify works
  • Supervising Aids and Adaptation Works, including pre and post inspections of works To take active role for relevant H&S tasks associated with works, i.e. asbestos and water hygiene Management. Participate in the out of hours rota system where required.
