Temporary Project Worker Wanted in Richmond

Pay: £11-£14 Per Hour

Clients: Working with low to medium need ex-Homeless clients

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours, must have complete availability and be happy to work 5 days a week across Monday - Sunday on a rolling rota. You will be required to cover 2 weekends a month

This includes:

Early shift: 08:00am - 16:00

Late shift: 15:30 - 22:00

Day shift: 09:00 - 17:00

Area: Richmond

Assignment: 3 months

You must have an enhanced DBS issued within 12 months or one that is on the update service to apply - If you don't have one, please contact us and we can help you get one for future roles!

Our social care client in Richmond needs a project worker for their supported accommodation service. With the social care sector under enormous pressure during these difficult times, more and more services are opening or expanding to meet the demands. This new service is opening to house low to medium needs clients. The service aims to promote independence and offer a positive living environment for clients of a stable nature whilst they await longer term accommodation

Service Notes:

The service provides previously homeless clients with accommodation. The team consists of the team manager and 6 fellow Support workers workers.

You will need to link your clients in with employment, education and training opportunities. Talk through their short- and long-term goals and then most importantly help them with their move on options. With the aim of finding meaningful, long term, thought out accommodation for each client

To be successful in this social care role you should have a good expertise and understanding of the following:

  • The needs of homeless people and can work in an empathetic, constructive but strict manner
  • You will have excellent written and oral communication skills to enable you to effectively advocate on behalf of your clients when required
  • Will also possess good literacy, numeracy, and I.T skills
  • You should have an interest in homelessness issues and have up to date knowledge on Homeless and housing legislation
  • As project worker you will be providing key work support sessions based on each client's support plans catered around their various targets and goals. You will also be collating and updating needs and risks assessments, confidence in both these areas of expertise is crucial.
  • You will need to assess clients on their barriers to engagement with the service and the most important element of the role is being able to assess clients needs and find long term accommodation for them. Working on their life skills to ensure they are ready for the move
  • You will also be inducting new tenants into the service, helping them to understand their terms of agreement and making them feel settled
