Property Officer

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Property Officer on a temporary basis. The position will be based in the Borders and will be for around 4-6 months.

The main tasks of the role are

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Carrying out inspections in tenants' homes and communal areas to assess and diagnose repairs and element replacements.
• Undertake contract administration on Planned Investment Projects delivered by External contractors.
• Be highly customer focussed, delivering an excellent Repairs and Maintenance Service
• Ensure legislative health and safety requirements are met in tenants' homes.
• Specify works required in empty homes and ensure the works are carried out to a high standard.
• Manage financial and quality control of all aspects of repairs and replacement elements being carried out by In-house team and External Contractors

Experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage, as would experience of working in social housing or another regulated sector.

Other criteria includes:

• A strong knowledge, understanding and experience of building technology, construction and maintenance.
• Experience of carrying out property and estate inspections and specifying works, contract supervision, monitoring and quality control.
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to residential dwellings in Scotland
• Attention to detail
• Great communication skills
• Excellent IT skills - Word and Excel in particular
• Have a current full UK driving licence.
