Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for an Internal Communications Officer for a 3-month contract on behalf of our public sector client based in Edinburgh.
Rate: £300 - £375 Per Day/ Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
The role-holder will be a key member of the Internal Communications team who will lead on the delivery of high-quality, creative, and accurate content for proactive and reactive organisation-wide communications to staff. This role works on a hybrid model consisting of 2 days on-site and 3 working from home.
Main Duties Include:
- Planning and co-ordinating across several internal communications channels, including emails, website, digital/social media, eNewsletters and printed content. This includes creating content on behalf of members of the senior leadership team and a range of departments, as well as other initiatives agreed with the Head of Internal Communications.
- Providing specialist professional advice to organisation staff, at all levels, on strategic internal communications planning and best practice, and creating briefings, presentations and written reports to help deliver engaging and effective communications to target audiences.
- Creating a forward plan of communications activities and leading on campaigns and content, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach is taken and that the organisation's core values are reflected in all communications.
- Monitoring internal communication activities using insights and analytics, to support decision making and providing recommendations on developments and improvements to communications channels and content.
- Responding to developing situations which might impact the organisation's reputation and monitoring comments/enquiries received through corporate channels to highlight potential emerging issues to management and creating reactive communications.
- Representing Communications and Marketing at senior meetings, providing specialist advice and support, preparing reports, and supporting materials for events and other activities.
Experience & Skills:
- A proven track record of strong internal communications experience in a similar or related role.
- The ability to create clear and effective communication plans and concise, compelling key messages.
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills across all levels, with the ability to interpret people's needs to influence effectively and manage expectations.
- The ability to use professional design tools and packages to create high quality, engaging visual content.
- Significant experience using email campaign tools, digital analytics and measurement tools, and MS Office tools.
- Professional training or qualification in internal communications or marketing.
- Membership of professional organisation such as CIPR.
