Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Data Architect on a permanent basis on behalf of our public sector client based in Stirling.

Salary: £42k - £50k

The role holder will consult, investigate and design the data structures, controls and standards for the organisation across all systems in accordance with wider enterprise architecture and the needs of the business. This will include working on a data road map for the business, considering Data Governance, Data Strategy, Data modelling and Data warehousing. The role holder will work closely with a range of departments and key stakeholders to ensure that the data needs of the organisation are understood and that best practice is applied. They will ensure the organisation can clearly understand, manage, and use the data effectively in line with its strategic ambitions.


  • To lead the development of architecture for data systems
  • To ensure that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood, and employed in architecture development
  • Within a change programme, lead the preparation of technical data plans and in liaison with business assurance and project staff
  • Ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly to data
  • Devise and implement master data management processes including; classification, security, quality, ethical principles, retrieval, and retention processes
  • Oversee the provision of specialist advice by others and consolidates expertise from multiple sources including third party experts to provide coherent advice to further project objectives.
  • Understand the vital importance of data to the business and will be an advocate for good data governance and information management

Essential Criteria;

  • Experience of data architecture within a large, complex organisation
  • An excellent understanding of technology/technology trends within the field of data, database, master data management, cloud-based data storage, and reporting technology
  • Experience enabling business to innovate using modern technology and well-defined standards
  • Significant knowledge of database management systems
  • Experience with Analysis of application data flows
  • Experience with ETL analysis and design
  • Experience in communicating appropriately and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills
