Project Manager

£43000 - £43001 per annum

Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Project Managrer on a 2-year fixed term contract on behalf of our public sector client based in Edinburgh.

Salary; £43k - £52k

The role holder will be responsible for providing an exceptional standard of programme management. They will operate across the whole programme of activity and will act as a strong unifying force to deliver the overall objectives of the Programme. The Project Manager is responsible for providing regular, standardised, and accurate reporting across projects on a regular basis alongside a consolidated programme plan, ensuring the issue register is maintained / acted upon, proactively identify and escalating risks from the information gathered.


  • Mobilise and execute the project and programme management process, documentation, technology, and relevant infrastructure required to enable the successful delivery of the programme.
  • Work with the Programme Lead to ensure that the programme governance can make effective decisions at each phase of the programme.
  • Technical leadership of the programme management approach, providing individual projects, project plans, work-packages, activities, with the technical tools, templates and change management methodologies to successfully execute delivery; and the tools, standards, and processes to deliver a robust approach to benefits management across the Programme as a whole and at individual programme/project level.
  • Proactively identify and escalate Programme delivery threats and risks enabled by the management of the consolidated risk register.
  • Provide regular, standardised, and accurate programme/project monitoring and reporting while delivering an overview of the planning, reporting and management information function, including engaging directly with Senior Management to report on progress.
  • Management of Programme consultants and other relevant resourcing.


  • Expert knowledge of programme and project management processes and techniques
  • Strong change management knowledge and mind-set
  • Expert planning, monitoring, tracking, risk/issue monitoring and reporting skills
  • Ability to gather, analyse, and present complex information, write reports, and deliver presentations
  • Experience of staff management, individuals, and team building: demonstrable ability to empower and motivate staff, and to facilitate the implementation of lasting service improvement and coordination.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of possible longer-term implications
