Senior Business Analyst

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst on a 2 year Fixed-term for our public sector client based in Stirling.

Salary; £42k - £50k

The role holder will have a key role and responsibility to provide process analysis and leadership for this strategically important project. A significant amount of effort is required to map existing processes, create a process store, redesign processes, and establish a continuous improvement programme. The ideal role holder will require significant expertise in knowledge and skills transfer in business process modelling and re-engineering, as well as bringing much needed capacity to the facilitation of workshops and to the work across the professional services teams in extracting existing knowledge and driving process improvement.

Other duties include;

• To provide process analysis in support of the Project: customer requirements analysis, functional evaluation, business process review and re-engineering, systems specification, and system testing.
• Lead discovery workshops with relevant stakeholders to formally capture business applications functionality, data sources, dependencies and supporting technical infrastructure.
• Undertake organisational and business process modelling to guide the design and implementation as well as ensuring the changes have maximum impact on the delivery of the Project.
• Take an analytical approach to identify any areas of potential inefficiency using, for example, root cause analysis.
• Undertake diagnosis of problems, processes and new business proposals recommending desirable and feasible changes in processes, structures and systems to produce measurable improved outcomes.
• Highlight emerging issues and risks of the Project and work with the Project Manager & team, to problem solve and generate appropriate solutions and mitigation.
• Recommend and or design new or revised technology, systems and components which will transform existing business processes taking into account the existing platforms within the overall operations support systems infrastructure.
• Undertake cost/benefit analysis of business/ system options.
• Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders acting as a trusted adviser on business analysis, requirements definition and management.
• Document all project and business analysis work as appropriate, including business processes, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide an expert advice service and guidance to the Programme Management Office when new project initiatives and business cases are being evaluated.

Skills/Experience Required;

• Significant experience of systems modelling, and re-engineering using business analysis methodologies, tools and techniques in a large complex organisation.
• Proven experience of identifying and documenting user/business requirements through a variety of approaches.
• Significant experience of coordinating and leading discovery workshops
• Excellent understanding and experience of technologies, including MS Project suite, SharePoint, O365 and other related tools.
• Experience of change management.
• Experience of negotiating with, coordinating and monitoring the work of external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Experience of effective leadership and coordination of staffing resources.
• Experience of managing and reporting on budgets.
