Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Senior Research Software Engineer on behalf of our public-sector client based in Dundee. This role can be performed mostly remotely, with a site visit required once or twice a fortnight.
This is a 24-Month Fixed Term Contract, with a likelihood of extension beyond this.
Salary: £43k-£58k
Annual Leave: 39 Days

As a senior research software engineer you will be expected to take a role in the design and implementation of research software solutions including non-functional aspects such as performance, security, testability, and compliance in addition to functional aspects. You will be expected to learn the domain information required to deliver the projects. Such information could be health, genomic and imaging data. You will be involved in strategic projects that contribute toward continuous improvement to the data we hold and the platforms we provide, particularly growing our image data capability. You will produce system documentation in line with documentation standards and keep abreast of developments in the standards and modelling community for health information and knowledge, communicating complex and specialised issues both orally and in writing that is clear for the intended audience.
You will be working within the research team, where alongside other projects you will be leading on maintenance and development of new features and functionality for the organisation's open-source Research Data Management Platform. Your role will include establishing and leading a community of practice amongst new and existing RDMP users and ensuring availability of instructions around such things as use of the system and the process for raising bugs or requesting new features.
