Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Governance Officer on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Selkirk however hybrid working will be offered.

This role will contribute towards efficient and effective business support, providing high quality, proactive corporate governance administration and support to the organisation.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Ensure that the decision-making process is underpinned by robust, compliant and transparent Governance administration.
  • Act as point of contact responding to enquiries and liaising with colleagues appropriately to ensure accurate advice and information is provided timeously.
  • Maintain and report on all governance registers, related schedules and statutory return submissions
  • Provide support to review the governance framework including policies, procedures and processes
  • To plan, manage and service the annual governance meeting schedule and calendar of governance meetings and events
  • Forward plan, prepare and facilitate reporting cycles, including agenda planning, meeting arrangements and the appropriate distribution of reports/documents and meeting packs. Take and record accurate minutes of meetings, noting action points and following them up, and recording in the action tracker.
  • Organise and administer the Committee meetings including location, attendees, travel, minutes and paperwork delivered beforehand
  • Organise and facilitate recruitment of new committee members.

To be considered for this position you must have:

  • Excellent experience of administration within a fast paced environment
  • Experience in report writing and minute taking
  • Previous governance experience is essential
