CDM / Principal Designer

We have a current opportunity for a CDM / Principal Designer on a Temporary basis. The position will be based in Glasgow For further information about this position please apply.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced construction and design health and safety professional to join a friendly and successful team. This would suit someone who enjoys working on multiple projects and delivering training. The role is home / office based.

My client is a Public Sector organisation in Glasgow looking for a CDM / Principal Designer on a contract basis.

To be suitable for this position you must have strong public sector CDM Experience in:

• Demolition
• New build
• Refurbishment
• Domestic maintenance

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting clients of the performance of their duties under CDM2015
• Providing general health and safety advice to the client and other members of the project team
• Planning, managing and monitoring of Health & Safety in the pre-construction phase
• Ensure designers carry out their duties
• Compile the pre-construction information and ensure that it is provide to whoever needs it
• Prepare, review and revise Health & Safety Files
• Liaise/communicate with clients, designers, principal contractors and contractors
• Provide briefings/training to the project team members and others
• Perform construction site health and safety audits/inspections

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant construction industry experience (Demolition, refurb, new build, maintenance) including principal designer
• Membership of relevant professional institution - IOSH, IIRSM or other appropriate institute
• IMaPS or CMaPS
• Relevant, in date CSCS card
• A suitable environmental awareness qualification
• National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Construction Certificate or equivalent
• Hold a UK Driving Licence
