Morgan Hunt is delighted to be partnering with a Higher Education client in their search for an M&E Project Manager for a fixed-term 2-year permanent appointment. This is an exceptional opportunity to join Global leader within Higher Education.

Main Purpose of Role:

The M&E Project Manager works within the Facilities & Estates department to lead temporary project teams of technical and business specialists in delivering an ongoing programme of infrastructure-related projects for the institution

Duties and Responsibilities (includes but limited to):

• Manage the delivery of various M&E projects (replacements/upgrades etc..)
• Lead and participate in developing business cases to ensure that the campus infrastructure is fit for purpose and delivers value for the University.
• Manage project commercial and issues and produce cost reporting (WIP) and project proposals to Estates and wider stakeholders, and executive approval boards, as appropriate.
• Ensure project risks, and project-related aspects of departmental risks, disaster recovery and business continuity plans are documented and appropriately managed
• Manage procurement, labour and sub-contractors to meet project delivery expectations, on time and within budget.
• Prepare detailed plans to administer the project and ensure the project team are familiar with them and are following these guidelines.
• Ensure health and safety throughout the project is managed to the highest standard
• Coordinate the formation and running of the Project Board and decision-making governance.
• Establish formal and informal methods to identify and engage with key project stakeholders, ensuring delivered products and performance are aligned to expectations.
• Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and report project performance against appropriate and agreed delivery and quality targets, taking action to address issues as needed.
• Ensure Projects transition to operations effectively, and staff are trained as appropriate.
• Actively contribute to the development of Facilities & Estates Strategy and annual Operations Plan as part of the Estates Management Team.
• Establish, guide and drive good practice of standard Estates project delivery across the whole department.
• Document policies, procedures and guidelines for internal Estates project delivery and ensure that all project documents are complete, current and documented appropriately.
• Maintain own knowledge of developments in legislation, risk management and project management practice standards, through self-directed study, interaction and sharing with others in the higher education sector, professional bodies, partners and vendors.
• Ensure health and safety throughout the project is managed to the highest standard
• Represent the University on any internal or external issues.

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Relevant trade background or Degree Qualified
• Minimum 5 years M&E Experience with experience in the Commercial sector
• Project management qualification, or equivalent professional experience
