Technical Services Officer

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Technical Services Officer on a 6 month contract based in Glasgow. You will be part of the property function within the organisation and you will involved in repairs, maintenance and new build inspections.

The main duties are:

Routine Repairs

• Operates repair and maintenance services and systems within guidelines
• Identifies defects within the stock, either in response to customer reports, or as a result of routine planned inspections
• Liaise with contractors to carry out defect inspections to new build stock and implement measures for effective repairs
• Produces detailed reports on repairs/defects with recommendations for remedial work

Adaptations

• Implement the Medical Adaptations Policy
• Liaise with Social Work in relation to referrals
• Undertakes appropriate technical evaluations of proposed adaptations
• Makes recommendations to the Maintenance Manager in relation to proposed adaptations
• Liaise with customers, including attendance as appropriate at meetings, in relation to proposed adaptations
• Contribute to the preparation of specifications and tender documents in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager

Void Repairs

• Undertake inspections to identify defects within void properties in line with the timescales within the Void Management Policy
• Issue instructions, in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, to bring void properties up to the standard required in the Void Management Policy
• Monitors and reports regularly on contractor quality and programme performance in relation to instructed void repairs
