Job description

Morgan Hunt currently recruiting for our public sector client in Glasgow. They are looking for an AV Technician to work within their IT Department. This is a contract role lasting 3 Months and the role-holder would need to be on-site 5 days a week.

Rate; £11.65 - £15.30 per Hour

The role holder will be expected to assist throughout with a wide variety of audio-visual tasks, including setting up AV equipment and software, maintenance, installation, web-site development, and video post-production.

Duties;

  • To be responsible for setting up and maintaining the AV equipment including LCD projection, video recorders / cameras, laptops and perform regular preventative maintenance checks on AV equipment so that the organisation can run efficiently and effectively
  • To provide technical support for staff using the AV equipment, including immediate assistance/ emergency back-up if staff require help to resolve IT issues
  • To be responsible for obtaining quotes and ordering new AV / multimedia equipment as well as organising the installation and security of the equipment
  • To be responsible for designing, developing, updating and maintaining the pages of the web sites while offering support to the content editors within the organisation
  • To be responsible for organising and updating the room bookings schedule so that meetings can be accurately timetabled in advance, thereby meeting the accommodation / equipment needs

Skills & Experience;

  • Demonstrable in-depth technical skills relating to installation and use of AV equipment and any health and safety implications.
  • Significant IT skills, including proficient use of: Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop; video post-production software eg Adobe Premier and/or Final Cut Studio; streaming audio and video, pod-casting, and social networking tools e.g. TechSmith Camtasia and/or Adobe Audition
  • Experience of understanding and interpreting the technical requirements of service uses and implementing appropriate methods of achieving their needs
  • Ability to train and support staff in the use of learning technologies and interpret staff needs and produce instructional materials.
