Job description

A leading and well known public sector organisation based in Glasgow require an IT Manager with Business Transformation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project and programme management of key business transformation projects including:
    • Development of self-service options for customers through a web portal
    • Providing internet connectivity across the organisation through a third party provider
    • Supporting staff to have better quality interactions with customers, e.g. through remote working technology and a CRM
  • Work with managers and teams across the organisation to ensure new processes, systems and ways of working are owned by and embedded in how operational teams work.
  • Lead, develop, implement and regularly review the Digital and IT strategy to meet overall corporate objectives
  • Understanding new technologies and current and future business needs and bringing these together to form innovative proposals
  • Ensuring all IT contracted services are procured and managed effectively and compliance is achieved, including third line support, provision of software, hardware, business applications
  • Oversee the delivery of an outstanding responsive IT support service including management and delivery of an IT helpdesk and asset replacement programme.
  • Oversee the development of the website, social media, intranet and other communication channels.
  • Oversee the delivery, testing and review of the Business Continuity Plan (including IT Disaster Recovery) and ensuring corrective action is taken.

Organisational

  • Developing key Business Transformation and IT policies and procedures, ensuring risks are mitigated and managed effectively, and that good practice and benchmarking is reviewed and applied.
  • Ensure implementation of the information management policies and procedures to ensure GDPR compliance as this relates to Business Transformation and IT.
  • Ensure implementation of the Equality and Diversity Strategy as it relates to Business Transformation and IT activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Businesses Plan, Management Plan and Annual Report.
  • Produce clear concise reports for Senior Management Team and Committees to facilitate appropriate strategic decisions.
  • Establish a skilled, well supported and well-motivated Business Transformation and IT Team.
  • Empower the Business Transformation and IT Team to act with minimum supervision needed to ensure probity and efficiency.
  • Take an active role in the organisation's Senior Management Team including the management and mitigation of risks around Business Transformation and IT.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the annual Business Transformation and Team Delivery Plan for Business Transformation and IT activities.
  • Build excellent rapport and effective partnerships with customers, stakeholders and contractors
  • Set budgets for IT and Business Transformation and identify potential cost saving opportunities and deliver value for money efficiencies
  • Produce accurate and timely performance information and data

Experience Required

  • Excellent understanding of effective project management systems and techniques and experience delivering projects to time and budget and leading inter-departmental working groups.
  • Understanding of an effective business process and experience driving improvements in systems and processes
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing and delivering digital services to improve customer experience and service delivery
  • Experience supporting managers to embed changes in systems and processes
  • Proven experience of working at a senior level leading, managing and motivating others to deliver a customer focused ICT service
  • Development and management of budgets
  • Experience of policy and procedure development, demonstrating an innovative approach
  • Proven track record of delivering efficiency and value for money
  • Knowledge and experience of risk in a networked environment, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to safeguard the Association
  • Experience of procurement processes
  • Knowledge of controlling Microsoft Windows server 2008/2012, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SQL server and a good understanding of networks

Salary & Benefits

  • £42,000 to £45,300
