Morgan Hunt are working exclusively with one of Scotland's largest brands, this organisation is very well known across the UK, and are a market leader in what they do. They have established for over 100 years and are proud of what they do.

The organisation is investing heavily with IT & Security, and looking to create a new role, Chief Architect & Security Officer.

• To design a holistic set of solutions, capabilities and services to meet the technology needs of the Group to maximise value and minimize risk or disruption.
• Lead innovation to broaden the thinking of how they can use technology to drive value and advantage. Evaluating trends and providing input into the IT strategy, solution designs and operations.
• Provide commercial oversight of the software and hardware estate, ensuring it is right-sized, fit for purpose and is adequately maintained throughout the lifecycle.
• To develop, maintain and monitor the plans, tools, and processes to adequately secure the estate and manage risks.
• To lead the education, awareness and good practices associated with securing our systems and data and protecting us from cyber-attack.
• Maintain a holistic view of all IT solutions and services ensuring the estate is cohesive, rationalized and fit-for-purpose.
• Support initiatives through researching and evaluating technologies and solutions that may be required to fulfil requirements, aiding in the selection of these solutions.
• Drive innovation through research, demonstrations and proof of concepts in order to inform the future roadmap.
• Act as the point of escalation for all critical problems that cannot be solved by the Operations teams.
• Oversee the team of application, infrastructure and security architects.
• Develop and maintain our processes in line with GDPR requirements.
• Support the IT Strategy and Technology Roadmap generation.
• Develop and maintain all IT policies.
• Define and run the appropriate governance forums (e.g TDA) to enforce standards and principles for solutions and services.

Qualifications, experience and training required

• Strong experience in Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security
• Proven track record of application and infrastructure design.
• Experience with standard design and governance methodologies.
• Significant experience in developing IT security strategy and policies.
• Strong communication skills across all levels.

Role Details

• Their head office is in Edinburgh, and they would expect the right candidate to spend time there, but this can be a near fully home working role.
• Salary - £130- £150k
• Car allowance £ 7,200 p/a
• Aviva Pension Plan (company matched 5% for first 2 years, up to 7.5% after 2 years)
• 33 days holiday per annum (including 8 bank holidays)
• Bupa Single membership fees covered, option to add Family members
• Life Assurance is currently 4 x salary if in pension, 1 x salary if not in pension
