Job description

Morgan Hunt are working on an exclusive basis with a leading Scottish organisation who operate globally. They require an Agile based Project Manager/ Delivery Manager to help drive forward various IT projects. The project management although agile based, may involve some aspects of waterfall.

The role of the Project Manager/ Delivery Manager involves working with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and BA's assigned to projects. The individual will also need to actively engage with Architects across the organisation and third-party teams in the delivery of workstreams or projects.


  • Direct and Manage the delivery of Technical / Digital roadmap :
  • Accountable for the delivery of a portfolio for the technology / digital Hub, in line with targets; time, quality, cost, value, and benefits.
  • Drive change and initiate corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverables are produced on time and within budget escalating to Leadership as appropriate.
  • Manage the 3rd parties as required delivering into the change delivery programme, ensuring that their work is tracked and they deliver to their committed timelines.
  • Guide internal and external project teams in implementing Agile best practices.
  • Manage and influence key stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of delivery.
  • Manage the budgets for a portfolio of work.
  • Ensure design principles are in line with the strategy and adhered to during implementation.
  • Enable and drive different delivery approaches required to support Innovation.
  • Quality assure individual projects as required.
  • Act as the escalation point for project managers and 3rd parties in order to ensure progress is maintained.
  • Ensure tracking and reporting on progress to all stakeholders.
  • Manage the Project Management Function:
  • Lead third-party project management team.
  • Mentor members of the team to support their development and encourage growth within the team.
  • Implement Agile delivery best practices and guide teams in implementation with a steer from the CIO
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and a high-performing team ethic that can manage change beyond purely IT and is underpinned by clear behavioural strengths.

Must have:

  • Experience in managing a global programme or portfolio of projects.
  • Experience in managing and implementing Agile delivery processes.
  • Direct experience in the management of IT programmes or portfolios of projects including requirements capture, design, technical delivery, and business change.
  • Direct experience of line and team management, preferably including the direct management of Project Managers.
  • Direct experience of programme financial management or the financial management of multiple projects
  • Demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder management
  • Experience of working with Business Intelligence, Infrastructure, Data and Software projects
