Job description

I am delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Business Partner based in Glasgow. This is a 6-12 month Contract based in a Public Sector organisation. There will be the added benefit of hybrid working with a mixture of both home and office based. This position is inside of IR35 and a day rate of £350 - £450 DOE.

The purpose of this Finance Business Partner is to support a designated Directorate supporting the Director and the SMT. The FBP will be a trusted advisor to the business with exceptional ability to influence, advise, guide and permission spend plans and ensure a collaborative, well-informed, professional 'One Finance' team.

The FBP's role encompasses budget and business planning, in-year financial management, monitoring and reporting, finance training and approving spend proposals. As an FBP you will work effectively with senior stakeholders, senior colleagues and members of finance team to support provision of financial service and relevant advice.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Business Partnering, you will be responsible for duties such as:

• Produce an annual budgeted delivery plan for Directorate, managing and prioritising spend against agreed organisational/directorate objectives/forward work plan
• Lead on medium term financial planning and spending review activities for Directorate
• Manage monthly and quarterly processes to track in year and forecast performance
• Provide accurate and timely management information to support decision making
• Advice on budget assumptions, cost and workforce management and compliance requirements
• Support continuous improvement, building capability and financial rigor of forward plans
• Maintain an up-to-date record of financial risk
• Champion change and continuous improvement to deliver improved financial performance and value for money
• Act as a financial coach to the business by improving the financial and commercial capability of non-Finance staff
• Attend relevant Directorate meetings on a regular basis to provide support and advice in real time, and be seen as a member of the Directorate SMT

To be considered for this Finance Business Partner role you will have:

• A Successful track record of financial business partnering and business/ workforce planning at a senior level
• Strong technical finance ability with experience of working with senior financial and non-financial colleagues to deliver improved performance and value for money
• Strong soft skills in initiative, resilience and being proactive
• Excellent Communicating and influencing skills
