Job description

I am recruiting for a People Assistant to work with a client based in Glasgow City Centre on a temporary basis for 12 weeks. The post will be 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri) and will adopt a hybrid approach.

Working as part of the People Service Support Centre your work will be varied and fast paced. You will work with key stakeholders to deliver the People Strategy and administrative support to the People Team, alongside providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a first point of contact for the high volume of People/HR queries received through multiple channels, dealing with all aspects of the employment cycle. Respond and deal with these enquiries within agreed times and to an appropriate standard or where necessary escalate.
  • Provide administration support on the Workday People system by creating work schedules, recalculation of annual leave, calculation of sickness entitlement and pay; investigating job changes that impact on benefits; on-boarding activities; systems maintenance and transactional support to the business. Ensuring all actions that impact on payroll are completed accurately and timeously.
  • Maintenance of employee benefits including pensions; employee benefit scheme; buy and sell leave; employee recognition and retirements
  • Administration of the performance review process
  • Administration of new start, changes and leaver employee files
  • Administrative tasks associated with the Redeployment Process
  • Administration and reporting of OHEAP and sharing insight with Managers and Advisors. Administration and maintenance of the employee handbook; policy updates and all People Related electronic content on the Intranet/Document Control System
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as and when required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum of 1 years' previous experience within a business administration role
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills which can be adapted to manage varying people scenarios
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, effectively manage a range of simultaneous demands
  • Customer focused delivery
  • Mange sensitive data in a responsible manner
  • Continuous improvement mindset who staves for excellence in all they do
  • Results / outcome focussed approach
  • IT literate, including MS Office


  • Minimum of 1 years' previous experience within a PeopleHR role
  • Minimum experience of 1 year with people systems and MI
  • Knowledge of GDPR principles
  • CIPD qualified
