Strategic Analysis Manager

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Strategic Analysis Manager to join our public sector clients Strategic Planning department.

Sitting within the Planning function, you will bring the depth of expertise, analysis and rigour of our business intelligence, insights and reporting capability to develop a transparent approach that enables the organisation to have a clear oversight of progress being made on the delivery and implementation of our strategies. You will set out how our investments are aligned to strategic objectives and outcomes, identifying inter-dependencies of our strategic investments and report on risks to delivery, as well as impact.

Other responsibilities include;

• Develop an overarching analytic framework to inform and monitor the impact of Strategy implementation, and establish a regular reporting on progress of major projects underpinning our strategic ambitions.
• Provide strategic insight and analytics linking horizon scanning, performance indicators, benefits realisation against thematic and enabling strategies, where relevant.
• Ensure rigour and assurance to Major Project Initiation Documentation ensuring alignment to the thematic and enabling strategies, KPI targets, strategic risk mitigation and financial responsibility.
• Develop and take forward the application of a prioritisation methodology to support decision-making on investments, taking into account timescales and deliverability against impact and outcomes.
• Support the delivery and implementation of an institutional service strategy, across its three main pillars - People First, Working Together and Service Efficiency and Excellence

Skills/Experience Required;

• Well developed knowledge of how a data and analytically centric organisation can capitalise on its uses to gain competitive advantages, internal efficiencies and quantifiable decision making.

• Ability to demonstrate a strategic vision of how the organisation can develop and evolve its capabilities in the use of data for strategic and operational decision making at all levels of management and leadership.

• Excellent project management skills, ability to intergrate multiple horizontal work streams which encompasses and drives value from the full breadth of the organisations data landscape.

• Strong leadership skills with ability to develop strong people capability in pursuit of strategic objectives.

• Experience in developing and successfully managing information analysis and data visualisation operations in an organisation of comparable size and complexity
