Health and Safety Advisers (two positions)
We are delighted to be assisting a well known public sector organisation with their search for two new Health & Safety Advisors.
You will work as part of team of health and safety professionals to provide health and safety support to the Senior Health & Safety Adviser in ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective Health & Safety Service to enhance employee and public safety.
Lead on fulfilling health and safety strategic aims and goals through the implementation of the Health and Safety management system within the training requirements, including the requirements of annual health and safety plans and associated management arrangements, and to monitor and report on compliance within their area of reference.
To provide up to date safety advice that is consistent management system and legislation, and reflects the needs of front line service delivery so far as is reasonably practicable through membership of established managerial groups, formalised meeting structures and ad hoc requests.
To support the delivery of Corporate Objectives through membership of Project Groups, and to research and share information, make recommendations, and observations with project leads to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and enhance employee safety standards.
Champion and promote a culture of safe working practices and legal compliance through the promotion of health and safety best practice, and the provision of training to Managers in Health and Safety procedures such as Risk Assessment, Method Statements, and Accident Investigation.
To carry out any other duties consistent with the post as may be required by the Senior Health and Safety Adviser and Health and Safety Manager.
Work as part of team of health and safety professionals to provide support to the Senior Health & Safety Adviser in relation to auditing COVID secure status of workplaces during the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular covering proactive areas such as:
· Horizon scanning;
· Document review/development;
· Data gathering - internal and external; and
· Trend analysis; and sharing of the lessons/outcomes of any Rapid Review.
Further to this, the following reactive measures to be supported are:
· Sample audits;
· Desk top audits;
· Rapid reviews - targeted interventions; and
· Workplace transmission determinations and RIDDOR notifications.
