Morgan Hunt is delighted to be exclusively working with The Religious Sisters of Charity who are looking at recruiting a Finance Assistant. This is a 3-month temp to perm contract role paying up to £24 p/hour. The role will be fully based at St. Joseph's Convent (Hackney, East London)
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:
- Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions, process invoices, and follow up with clients, suppliers, and partners as needed.
- Perform monthly income and expenditure reconciliations, control accounts reconciliation, and bank reconciliations using Sage software and Excel.
- Reconcile accounts to the trial balance stage and handle monthly payroll timesheet reconciliations.
- Provide financial reporting on Sage, produce monthly reports for the Trustees, and offer administrative support during budget preparation and forecast.
- Liaise with banks, investment consultants, suppliers, utility companies, and insurers on behalf of the communities.
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits, collaborate with the Financial Accountant on various projects, and ensure filing and record-keeping are up to date, including supporting congregation members with ad hoc duties.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Assistant:
- Minimum AAT qualified
- Must have experience working in the charity sector / public sector
- Strong knowledge and experience on Sage and Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
