Morgan Hunt is recruiting for a skilled and motivated HR Advisor for a permanent role based in Herefordshire. As the HR Advisor you will offer a professional HR services to schools and other clients across the County. This role offers the flexibility of working both onsite and remotely, with a focus on delivering high-quality HR advisory services within agreed service level agreements.


  • Salary: £30,400 - £38k per annum (full-time equivalent)
  • Hours: Part-time or full-time (28-37 hours per week) 42 weeks (term time + 4 weeks)
  • Location: Herefordshire with some home working


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR advice to head teachers, governors, and other clients, covering a wide range of HR services.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new business by building strong networks and demonstrating the value of our HR services.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and providing tailored HR solutions.
  • Advise clients on employment law, employee terms and conditions, and HR policies, with a particular focus on the educational sector.
  • Support line managers in handling complex casework, including disciplinary issues, performance management, redundancies, and grievances.
  • Advise on change management programs, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Provide specialist advice on TUPE processes during school conversions to Academy status and other transfers.
  • Design and deliver HR training programs tailored to the needs of schools and other clients.
  • Manage specific HR projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.


Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing and resolving a range of HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, TUPE, redundancy, and capability issues.
  • Experience in the educational sector and knowledge of school-specific legislation (e.g., Burgundy Book, School Teachers' Pay & Conditions) is desirable but not essential.
  • Preferably fully CIPD qualified, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, excellent time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, making professional decisions in challenging environments.
