Retirement Assistant
We have a current opportunity for a Retirement Assistant on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Glasgow and is for around 2-3 months. The role is for 20 hours per week Mon - Fri, 9-1.
You will be responsible for providing an enhanced housing management services to older tenants living in retirement/sheltered housing. You will build positive relationships with older tenants and encourage them to participate in groups, events and decisions which affect their lives.
The main duties are:
- Provide advice and assistance to encourage tenants to maintain the condition of their tenancy.
- Organise and encourage tenants to take an active role in social support activities, events and groups
- Keep up to date with local community based health and social care services provided within the local area for the benefit of older people
- Assist tenants to resolve or prevent housing debt by signposting to appropriate support including Money or Energy Advice Services and other internal and external support services.
- Welcome new tenants by providing a new tenant visit to all new retirement/sheltered housing tenants, assisting them to settle
The role is to start ASAP and the following experience is required: - Experience of delivering older peoples services
- Housing experience
- Subject to PVG check
