We are working on behalf of a public sector organisation based in Glasgow to recruit a dynamic and experienced Deputy Accounting Manager to join the accounting team on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial management of this public sector organisation.
About the Role
As Deputy Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Manager in delivering effective financial management and reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the department
- Managing supporting and developing the accounting team
- Responsibility for overseeing specific areas of capital accounting, fixed assets and cash management
- Monitor, identify and improve current processes if and where required
- Preparing and analysing financial reports
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures
- Contributing to the development and implementation of financial systems and processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven management or supervisory experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A good understanding of public sector financial management
