Job Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role within the English and Maths team, working to support students in reaching their full potential. Your primary responsibilities will involve promoting literacy, numeracy, and study skills, whilst providing tailored support to learners with additional needs. You will work closely with academic staff to ensure all students have access to effective educational opportunities and can achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of English and Maths lessons by providing one-to-one or small group assistance to students.
  • Work with students who have additional learning needs, adapting resources and teaching strategies to meet their individual requirements.
  • Promote the development of literacy and numeracy skills through targeted interventions and personalised support plans.
  • Help students improve their study skills, including time management, organisation, and exam preparation.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to both the students and academic staff.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting learners with additional needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE Grade C/4 in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with learners who have additional needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the educational development of all learners.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the department.

    • Working Hours: 26 hours per week
    • Working Pattern:
      • Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
      • Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
      • Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
      • Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    Role 2: ( Full Time )

    • Working Hours: 37 hours per week
    • Working Pattern:
      • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
      • Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Base Location: Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire
