They have a very healthy pipeline of work and are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer, with a view of becoming a Partner in the business within the next 4 years, to join their Edinburgh office. Role

You will lead the mechanical operations of the business, both from a project and people perspective as well as getting involved in fees, business development etc.

  • Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
  • Leading and delivering the mechanical aspect of projects from concept to completion working under industry standards and regulations.
  • Providing technical guidance and expertise, supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
  • Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
  • Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET.
  • Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings.
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, IES, Revit is beneficial
  • Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and client facing ability
