Mechanical Design Engineer Building Services

Company

A medium sized, specialist Mechanical and Electrical consultancy for building services engineering systems with multiple offices across the UK. This company offer a range of services including building design, condition surveys, dilapidations, energy studies, technical studies and more. They are involved heavily in the property sector but will also carry out work in sectors such as Retail and Sports/Leisure. Their Glasgow office is currently going through a period of growth and therefore they are seeking a Grad/Mechanical Design Engineer (some industry experience required) to join their small, social team.

Role

Due to the nature of work, jobs are smaller scale, faster paced and there will be lots of survey work required as well as mechanical building design.

• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems.
• Preparation and review of documentation eg designs, specifications, assessment reports, survey reports.
• Implementation of detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish status of the existing installations and gain sufficient information to recommend new/upgrade design proposal
• Report and technical note writing

Qualifications/Experience

• Post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
• Ideally have a full UK driving licence, to enable travel to sites as and when required, either as part of wider design team, or individually
• Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Revit is ideal
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Use knowledge of mechanical systems to carry out mechanical building services design
