Morgan Hunt are recruiting for an Senior Gardener to work with an Housing Trust based in South East London on a Permanent basis. The details of the job are below:
Hours: Full-time 36 hours 8.00am to 15:30pm Mon - Fri
Salary Rate: £26,500 PA
Location: South East London
Purpose of the Role:
To provide high quality horticultural services which are customer oriented, responsive to the needs of Park Side and residents including and in line with service standards working as a Senior Gardener in addition to supervising and developing apprentice roles
Departmental Responsibilities:
Key Result Areas:
To carry out horticultural maintenance including, grass cutting, planting, weeding and formative pruning and management of a wide range of landscape types including organising work loads according season
To support apprentice role
To maintain water features
To ensure that paths are salted
To wear all Personal Protective Equipment and uniform provided by the organisation
To establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues and tenants to ensure an integrated contribution to the organisation's objectives
To take a proactive role in the positive resolution of complaints
To represent the organisation positively both internally and externally
To report any defects using appropriate systems for both work related and estate-based issues
To positively comply with the organisation's policies, procedures and systems ensuring compliance with the needs of legal, regulatory and statutory bodies as well as best practice principles
To observe, deliver, continually promote and act in accordance with the organisation's Health and Safety, equal opportunities and customer care policies and procedures
To undertake other tasks as reasonably required to meet the varying demands of the service and of the organisation
To follow Trust Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. You may be required to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider as part of your duties
Skills/Experience required:
Essential:
- Proven experience of working in a horticulture in high quality environment
- Experience of using a wide range of equipment and tools
- Proven ability to work in all weathers in an outdoor environment
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work
Desirable:
- Current driving licence
Qualifications required:
NVQ in horticulture level 2 / PA1 - PA6A or Relevant qualifications or modular training / PA1 - PA6A
