Hybrid working - Brighton


Salary between £46,093 and £61,187 per annum dependent on skills and experience, plus excellent benefits package

My Client:

My client are a high profile government agency who are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to work in a small Programme Team, led by a Programme Manager, and in partnership with the People & Culture Steering Group, to project manage the People & Culture Strategy programme of work.

Your Role:

The People & Culture Strategy is a 5-year culture change programme and is a critical enabler of the Corporate Strategy. The three strategic objectives will deliver outcomes against Organisation & People, Leadership, and Culture and together, these outcomes will deliver sustainable and positive change for TPR and support the organisation in adapting and responding to the changing landscape of pension regulation. This is a complex and multi-layered programme of work, inevitably with a strong people and culture focus and orientation and would suit an individual with previous experience of delivering large-scale people and organisation projects.

This role will work with the Programme Manager to develop detailed project plans, in partnership with the programme's Executive sponsors, for 22/23 and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and establish Agile project operations and a project team
  • Plan, document and get approval of a formal business case, both for the initial project phases and for future project phases
  • Define and establish project governance and identify project stakeholders
  • Document Project Initiation Document (PID) and reach agreement with stakeholders
  • Lead project operations - be the Scrum Master while maintaining Project Controls
  • Manage project finances with the finance team
  • Collaborate with Programme Manager, Steering Group and PMO
  • Understand and meet the requirements for the Government Service Standards and Technology Code of Practice and implement the project approach to successfully navigate these

What you need to be successful:

  • Demonstrable experience of Agile project operations within Government or a regulatory environment to achieve expected outcomes within agreed tolerances of time, cost, and quality
  • Experience of documenting business cases and successfully establishing projects from the outset
  • Experience of complex risk, issue, and dependency management across complex stakeholders within a highly governed environment
  • Stakeholder management at all levels and facilitation to be able to conclude discussions and reach consensus where multiple stakeholders may have multiple conflicting views
  • Accredited to Practitioner level in an industry-recognised Agile project management methodology or equivalent experience
