Responsibilities

In this Senior Quantity Surveyors job role, your responsibilities may include:

Awarding Sub-Contract agreements with Sub-Contracts, currently maximising profit via price betterment/Main Contractor discounts

Attending, contributing to, and minuting Project Team Meetings

Attend and contributing to Client site meetings

Preparing Interim Valuations with Client's Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment

Paying Sub-Contractors appropriate monthly payments and informing of variations (when relevant)

Re-measuring work using site measurement, measurement from drawings, information from Site Agents/Bonus Department.

Provision of cost advice to Design Consultants

Reporting to Commercial Manager on job performance via cost/value comparisons

Preparing Cash Flow Forecasts & Surveying Reports

Pricing insurance claims

Agreeing Sub-Contractor Final Accounts

Agreeing Contract Final Account with Client's Surveyors

Ensuring that retention monies/additional monies are released, and correspondence is documented

Skills & experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
  • CSCS card (desired)
  • IT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Health & Safety skills
  • Budget compilation and management
  • Analytic & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to chair meetings
  • Negotiating skills
  • Objective setting
