Our client

Morgan Hunt is working with a charity that provides housing and domestic abuse support to homeless men and women in Greater Manchester. Our client works with individuals to overcome experiences they have had an empower them to build up the skills and resources they need to take on a tenancy of their own and maintain it in the long term. They can make positive choices about their future due to information and support offered from the organisation.

Our client is looking to recruit a temporary Tenant Support Worker for approximately 2 months. This is a full-time post (36 hours per week) and will include a mixture of early shifts and late shifts. Every 4 weeks you will be required to work a Saturday and Sunday 8am - 8pm with days off in the week to accommodate.

The role is based at their female only accommodation project in Rochdale which contains individual flats and is staffed 24 hours a day. Floating Support is also offered to clients within the community for up to 6 months.

The role - Tenant Support Worker

As a Tenant Support Worker you will;

  • Provide a high-quality supported housing service to individuals accessing services.
  • Support clients on a one-to-one basis and assist them to make informed choices and remain safe.
  • Support clients to develop themselves and advance their independence, assisting them to access employment, education, and training opportunities.
  • Support in the delivery of high-quality group programmes.
  • Assess the needs of clients and work with them to devise a support plan to identify need.
  • Complete risk assessments which incorporate safety planning and that are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Make referrals and work in conjunction with all relevant agencies in the best interests of clients.
  • Provide transitional resettlement support to clients moving into independent accommodation.

The candidate - Tenant Support Worker

  • An extensive understanding of homelessness and options available to people.
  • Knowledge of devising support plans, identifying risk and devising risk management plans to ensure outcomes are achieved.
  • Up to date knowledge of homelessness, housing, welfare benefits and legislation.
  • Knowledge and experiencing of responding to safeguarding concerns.
  • Liaising with other agencies and signposting to relevant services within the community.
  • Computer literate with a range of IT programmes.
  • To ability to manage a demanding workload and work in a fast-paced environment

Due to the nature of this role, a current Enhanced DBS is required dated within the last months or registered on the update service.
