Job Title: Gas and Plumbing Lecturer

Location: South Yorkshire

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Summary: As a Gas and Plumbing Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional teaching and training to the colleges students. You will inspire and educate the next generation of skilled professionals in the gas and plumbing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, contribute to the development of relevant curricula, and shape the future of aspiring tradespeople.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lectures, practical demonstrations, and workshops in gas and plumbing subjects.
  • Develop and implement appropriate lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessment materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, including one-on-one consultations and feedback on their progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure the delivery of current and relevant content.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including designing new courses and updating existing modules.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, improve teaching methodologies, and enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Participate in the assessment and examination process, including marking assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Provide mentor-ship and guidance to apprentices, supporting their development and success.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the gas and plumbing industry, with in-depth knowledge of relevant practices, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • PGCE
  • Recognised qualifications in gas and plumbing (e.g., Gas Safe registration, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Proven teaching experience, preferably within a further education or vocational training setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
