Job Title: Travel and Tourism Lecturer

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel and Tourism Lecturer to inspire and educate students in the exciting field of travel and tourism. As a Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise, industry insights, and passion for the subject matter with aspiring professionals. You will deliver engaging lectures, facilitate interactive discussions, and provide practical guidance to students, preparing them for a rewarding career in the travel and tourism sector.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality lectures on travel and tourism topics, including destination management, tour operations, hospitality, customer service, sustainable tourism, marketing, and event management.
• Developing and updating course curriculum to ensure relevance to industry trends and best practices.
• Designing and delivering practical sessions, field trips, and workshops to enhance student learning and provide real-world experience.
• Assessing student performance through assignments, examinations, and projects, and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
• Mentoring and advising students on their academic progress, career opportunities, and professional growth within the travel and tourism industry.
• Collaborating with colleagues to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment, sharing resources and best teaching practices.
• Keeping abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and advancements in travel and tourism, and incorporating them into teaching materials and methodologies.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the travel and tourism department through active participation in meetings, curriculum development, and faculty initiatives.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the travel and tourism industry, with expertise in destination management, tour operations, hospitality, and customer service.
• Previous teaching or training experience in a travel and tourism-related discipline is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for travel and tourism, demonstrated through active industry involvement, networking, and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
• Proficiency in relevant computer software and technology used in the travel and tourism field.
