Key responsibilities

In this Lecturer In Engineering (Electrical Maintenance) job, your responsibilities will include:

Job Purpose To carry out training and assessment for learners including the following tasks

Skills development within a workshop environment in the electrical and/or electronic discipline for example, one or more of the following skills

Electrical/electronic systems design, testing, construction, and maintenance Electrical/electronic automation Electrical/ electronic control systems

Skills that would be beneficial, but not essential Basic programming electrical/ electronic systems PLC Robotics Electrical/electronic E-CAD

Support candidates to achieve their qualifications.

Provide feedback on progress to candidates and the college

Guide and coach, the candidates in various applications of engineering best practice.

Develop and deliver training and assessment materials under the guidance of the Workshop Team Leader or H.O.D.

Assessment of competence to national standards.

Skills & experience

A degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline GCSE grade A-C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English Teacher Training Qualification or the willingness to undertake the courses required to gain this

An Assessor Award A1, or equivalent or a willingness to achieve the qualification Experience in one or more of the elements listed below

Electrical/electronic systems design, testing, construction and maintenance; Electrical/ electronic automation; Electrical/ electronic control systems. Strong Administrative skills, including IT skills
