Interim Implementation Tester

Hybrid Working - South Yorkshire

9 Months Contract

£400 - £450 Per Day Inside IR35

My client:

My client are an emergency services organisation looking for an Interim Implementation Tester to join their team and will work within a national organisation and will provide technical support and assistance to all of the Ambulance Trust's throughout the life of the ARP service contract.

Your role:

  • Build strong and effective work relationships with other technical and service management disciplines, suppliers, and users across the Ambulance Trusts and the NHS, and manage the conflicting demands and tensions of a range of stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for providing expert testing input and support to Ambulance Trusts on ARP related programmes and the associated system dependencies along with other elements of the ARP in Life Service.
  • Support thorough testing of system design and function against pre-specified design documentation and test scripts.
  • Ensure that detailed records of testing compliance and any necessary failures are captured and detailed reports produced after the testing event. The post holder will also participate in the identification and delivery of service improvements through technical enhancement.
  • Provide significant testing analysis and understanding of business and customer needs and solutions, whilst striving to reduce costs and ensuring business continuity across the programme is maintained.
  • To provide technical advice in preparation for and during significant planned testing events that take place within the scope of the ARP delivery into the English Ambulance Trust's, at strategic and tactical levels, using specialist knowledge, and using relationships built up with users, suppliers and other agencies.
  • provide internal technical support for the ARP team within the areas of laptop/desktop support, NHSmail, file and print sharing within a Windows Server environment, basic network and telecommunications troubleshooting.
  • Providing test and technical guidance and assurance on TETRA terminals, ICCS and BAU systems
  • Undertaking technical planning and support of the annual terminal upgrade activities in association with the Technical lead and Trust
  • Participating in full suite of test activities including non-functional, conformance, performance, integration and full end to end functional and scenario testing including issue, risk and problem management.
  • Proofing and assisting on the development of test documentation including test plans and test scripts.
  • Evaluation and testing of new products, providing advice, guidance and support to ARP and stakeholders.
  • Acting as a focal point for system testing within the various product streams and answering technical queries

What you need to be successful:

  • Degree post graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in testing communication technologies in an operational environment.
  • Production and maintenance of test documentation
  • Understanding of Tetra radio configuration and programming software
  • Understanding of the Airwave Tetra network and the Code of Practices
  • A good understanding of an LTE network that includes radio access
  • Knowledge of Tetra Airwave radio handling requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tetra modes and interfaces
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mobile networks that include GSM, GPRS, UMTS & LTE
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mobile data networks
  • Support of Mobile data terminals, GPS and various antenna systems
  • Control room ICCS experience that includes Sever room and desktop support
  • A good understanding of third-party systems that includes voice recording and PABX
  • A good understanding of the relationship between terminal fleet mapping and the ICCS configuration that includes CCI Port configuration
  • Experience in fault analysis and debugging errors
  • Full driving licence
  • General knowledge of processes and tasks to support and lead on Technical Delivery, Service Continuity, Business Continuity, Capacity, Service Level or Availability Management
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to function as a member of a multi professional team.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Visio and Internet Explorer with advanced keyboard skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to develop test scripts and link to contract requirements
  • Ability to capture and clearly define issues/ defects raised along with evidence to support issue resolution.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the fundamental test process
