Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Regional Service Manager on an 6 month interim basis that has experience working with vulnerable young persons. The position will involve travel over the West Midlands and East Midlands region - car driver necessary. For further information about this position please apply.

The post will have oversight of the West Midlands and East Midlands service, they operate in Birmingham and Nottingham, ideally a candidate who can regularly travel between the two cities with occasional home working, if desired, and visits to the London head office and other sites when required.

Responsibilities of a Regional Service Manager

  • Oversee effective and consistent delivery, performance, and quality assurance across the region, working with the Director of Services and other leaders to enhance and develop the offer.
  • Line manage Team leaders across our midland's services, who are based within emergency departments, and other posts as required. Provide thorough support, advice, and direction in what can be a challenging working environment.
  • Work with the team to build wide-ranging positive relationships with diverse partner organisations and external agencies, to ensure that young people can be referred into longer term supportive relationships
  • Be accountable for oversight of risk management. Analyse potential risks and devise and nimplement appropriate risk mitigation plans, with consideration for safeguarding, staff well-being and data protection issues.
  • To lead on identifying new business opportunities and potential tenders within the region and subsequently work with the Director of Services and the Head of Fundraising to bid for new business.
  • To act as the lead manager during periods of and leading up to mobilisation of new contracts or services coming online
  • Promote a positive team dynamic to support staff well-being, high morale, and excellent performance.
  • To manage all budgets within the region and exercise financial probity and best practice to ensure that commissioners and the charity always operate within best value parameters
  • To lead on writing the regional strategy (where needed)
  • Be involved in recruitment, staff performance and support team leaders with HR issues.
  • Ensure that all contractual agreements, SLAs, MOUs, and SOPs are effectively considered and assessed, and that service delivery is monitored so it is consistent with the relevant agreement.
  • Manage and develop strategic relationships with partners, and oversee projects, to enhance the delivery of services across the region.

Requirements of a Regional Service Manager

  • Experience working with young persons / criminal justice / complex needs / trauma
  • Proven track record of delegating a team
  • Car driver is necessary
  • Full Enhanced DBS - from within the last 12 months or on the update service
  • Available immediately
