Mechanical Engineering Lecturer
Engineering Specialism - Fabrication and Welding.

Up to £34k per annum, DOE.

The role of lecturer is to…

• Equip students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training
• Inspire students to achieve their potential
• Deliver excellent teaching
• Completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this,
• To set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.

In this role you will be delivering a range of qualifications from Level 1 across the Engineering disciplines above to full time and part time students and apprentices.

You will…

• Play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning
• Meet normal demands of an Academic Calendar including the production of Schemes of Work, planning for lessons, and meeting Quality and awarding body requirements.
• Be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.
• Provide pre and on-course guidance that supports learners through to successful outcomes.
• Undertake activities which will include learner interviews and enrolment, and other marketing and public relations activities associated with the course.
• Have overall responsibility of the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups, which will include the arrangement of support requirements for students in communication with your Curriculum Team Leader / Curriculum Leader and Progress Tutor.
• Be responsible for ensuring the progression and success of each student for which you are group tutor
• Work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives
• Hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 either have, or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification and assessors award

It is essential have relevant industry experience as an Welder or Metal Fabricator

You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined methods of practical, theoretical, and digital which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge, and behaviours for the future.
