Building Surveyor Northwest England (Head Office Based in Greater Manchester)

2 posts covering East Manchester - Yorkshire and West Manchester to Merseyside

We are working with a growing and successful housing organisation focused on transforming the lives of vulnerable people. This includes providing high quality housing and unrivalled support for service users.

An opportunity has arisen to join the team during an exciting period of growth and change, working as a Building Surveyor. Ideally you will possess knowledge, empathy and experience of working in Social Housing and/or Supported Housing and an awareness of current and impending regulations. As well as carrying out day to day duties such as stock conditions surveys you will have the opportunity to liaise with other departments to provide technical and commercial input and advice, to contribute to continuous improvement within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience and demonstration of understanding the surveying duties and roles within domestic building maintenance, particularly with carrying out Stock Conditions and HHSRS Surveys
  • A demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, health & safety and other legislation relevant to asset management
  • Knowledge of building maintenance including relevant experience in the inspection of domestic property and the remedy of maintenance problems



What you'll need

  • A relevant building surveying qualification to a minimum HNC/HND level.
  • Experience of stock condition or building surveying in the social or private housing sector
  • Experience of delivering high levels of service to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills to deal with all customer and colleague enquiries.
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this role
