Night Support Worker

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a large, reputable charity to recruit a Night Support Worker to work across their mental health, homelessness, domestic abuse, and substance misuse services in Merseyside. Their aim is to support people experiencing challenging times in their lives with the vision that everyone should feel safe, understood, empowered and positive for their future. The role of Night Support Worker is a permanent post and hours are worked on a 4 on 4 off rota basis. Therefore the ability to work flexibly is a must for this role.

The role - Support Worker

  • Responsible for the provision of effective, high quality support services for to vulnerable adults with the aim of promoting independent living
  • Assisting residents to engage with support activities i.e., key working sessions, group work sessions and residents' meetings that promote development
  • Preparing rooms prior to move in being completed
  • Carrying out welcome and induction to all new residents of the service as well as initial needs and risk assessments
  • Completing housing benefit applications
  • Completing evening welfare checks whilst monitoring residents emotional and mental wellbeing
  • Engaging with residents outside of timetabled activities to reduce social isolation and promote inclusion
  • Monitor rent and personal service charge payments using housing management systems
  • Supporting and facilitating move on from the service
  • Supporting in turning around and cleaning of void rooms in a timely manner

The candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for improving the lives vulnerable people with complex needs
  • Experience of working in accommodation-based services, supporting residents that have a wide range of complex and challenging support needs (i.e. mental health, substance misuse, homelessness and domestic abuse)
  • An understanding of the safeguarding and the ability to confidently report any safeguarding concerns to management
  • Experience of competing risk assessments and support plans with service users
  • The ability and confidence to lone work within services where lone working is required
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to work on a rota basis including evenings and weekends
  • A creative, dynamic approach with the ability to think outside the box when identifying solutions

An Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service is required for the role of Night Support Worker.
