Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working with a national charity that provide health and social care services for adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, dementia and their carers.

In partnership with Kirklees Council, our client delivers supported living accommodation for 5 young people aged 18 to 25. Several refurbished properties that offer en-suite bedrooms and modern, welcoming, communal facilities give people the chance to socialise with their neighbours. This service has fantastic links to local amenities and public transport links, meaning all that Holmfirth has to offer is on your doorstep.

We are looking to recruit two positions - 1 full time Support Worker and 1 part time Support Worker based at a service in Holmfirth. My client offers tailored and flexible care and support alongside the reassurance of 24/7 on site support. The support team will encourage individuals to develop their independent living skills, within a strength-based model of support. The aim is to encourage young people to achieve their full potential, including improving mental health and wellbeing, daily living skills, financial inclusion and access to work, training and education opportunities.

Both full and part time hours are available, to be worked flexibly on a rota basis.

The role

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for;

  • Working across sites delivering tailored and flexible support to tenants and empowering them to have greater independence
  • Medication prompting
  • Check in visits
  • Promoting independence through developing daily living skills and domestic tasks
  • Supporting individuals to access the community and arranging outings
  • Supporting with access to education, training and / or employment opportunities
  • Conducting Health and Safety checks of the properties

The candidate

  • You will be qualified to a Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this

  • Experience of working with vulnerable client groups with complex needs such as mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and / or young people
