Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Contracts Manager who's specialism is in Fire Safety and Asbestos to join a well established Housing Association. This is a permanent role and a fantastic opportunity to join their compliance team which is a busy, forward thinking and high performing team. The role will be a mix of working from our clients modern head office in Birkenhead, Wirral which is easily accessible from most transport links together with home/ hybrid working.

There will be a requirement to attend meetings at their head office and potentially other locations as deemed necessary to fulfil your role and complete training.

The role of Contracts Manager (Fire Safety & Asbestos) will report directly to the Head of Asset Compliance & Building Safety and has responsibility for managing a small team of people who support this role.

The overall purpose of the role will be to:

  • Ensure the organisation meets its statutory, legislative and regulatory responsibilities regarding fire safety and asbestos across its property portfolio.
  • Ensure that our customers are safe in their homes.
  • Be the organisations lead and subject matter expert on Fire Safety and Asbestos compliance.
  • Lead and work collaboratively on the procurement, management and performance of contractor/s delivering compliance works.
  • Lead and work collaboratively on the development and implementation of a new compliance-based software system.
  • Ensure that accurate/ certified data, certification is in place and held within the organisations systems.
  • Strong focus on contract performance, budgetary management and customer service.
  • Positively contribute to the role and the team you work with whilst sharing your knowledge, experience and skills to develop others.
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential and to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a must and ideally you will be fully proficient in all Microsoft Office packages.
