Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Housing Advice & Homeless Resolution Worker on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Liverpool.

They are committed to reducing social exclusion and health inequalities and helping people find a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living. Reflecting the diverse routes into and through homelessness, Our client operates a variety of services in different settings which ensure individuals do not slip through the net of provision. Our aim is to offer services which are of the highest quality achievable, relevant, informed by service users, and responsive to need.
Our Mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing related poverty by providing practical, tailored support so that each person can find and maintain a home and achieve their potential.
To work within current legislation and policies to assess the needs of current and new clients who are homeless, sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping and take appropriate steps to prevent and / or resolve homelessness on the same day of presentation.
To co-ordinate access to overnight provision (Night Hub Service) when an immediate solution cannot be secured for new rough sleepers, until appropriate accommodation is secured.
To resolve and address immediate, ongoing and long-term needs, signposting, referring and supporting participants to access and take up specialist housing and welfare rights advice and other internal and external services as appropriate including resettlement, supported housing, education, training and employment, medical and other services.
To develop and provide comprehensive, individually tailored support plans that enable participants to address identified and assessed needs and maximize their potential to be self-determining.
To maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of current welfare benefits, housing and homeless legislation in order to provide appropriate, comprehensive and reliable advice and advocacy services which to meet identified needs, making referrals to the more specialised Housing and Welfare Rights Advisers as appropriate.
To negotiate the development and implementation of individualised and tailored support plans with participants, discharging all work in the most appropriate manner including provision of advice, advocacy, on-ward referral and support to take up services.
To maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of available services and projects, both internally and externally, and their respective selection criteria, identifying, signposting, referring and supporting participants to access services as appropriate to address identified and assessed needs.
Where no immediate solution can be secured to prevent rough sleeping, to coordinate access into the Night Hub Service and to provide daily follow up advice and support to ensure resolution or access into appropriate accommodation.
