Morgan Hunt is ecstatic to be working with one of the UK's most important and effective public bodies, who are on the Hunt for an experienced Head of Content and Channels to join their incredible Manchester based team.

The public body works a hybrid model with 2/3 days in their Manchester office.

The placeholder needs to be excited by digital communications, with an interest in new social and digital developments. Having proven experience in end-to-end website, digital channel management, and SEO to ensure a successful launch of the organisations new website.

Job Title: Head of Content and Channels

Location: Manchester/Hybrid. Open to candidate's in Cardiff or Glasgow

Industry: Non-Departmental Public Body

Salary: £49K per annum

Contract Type: 3 Months FTC with potential to extend (36 Hours/Week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a growing team of content designers, creators and editors to ensure the organisations messages are delivered across digital channels in an engaging, innovative, accurate and impactful way.
  • Ensure the organisation stays up to date and ahead of the curve in digital content; learning from leading organisations and influencers by taking on technological developments and best practice.
  • Make certain digital channels reach and grow audiences, meet user needs, provide a first-class user experience and showcase the organisations credentials as a world-leading institution in the sector.

Your Team's Responsibilities

  • Managing the website and digital channels. Designing, producing, writing, creating, editing and commissioning digital content.
  • Constantly working to increase the number of people reached through web and digital presence; improving both the quality and relevance of content
  • Keeping up to date on trends and developments in digital content; proposing and experimenting with ways to apply new learning and develop content in line with business objectives and audience preferences.
  • Ensuring the development and delivery of integrated communications strategies and plans; working proactively with colleagues to identify ways to communicate key messages, target relevant audiences and co-ordinate communications across different channels.

Proven Skills and Experience

  • Technical knowledge of websites, SEO, and content management systems (ideally Drupal) with an understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience leading a team; managing and developing people to ensure high performance and motivation. Paired with strong coaching skills and experience advising colleagues in content design best practice, tools and methods.
  • Strong technical skills, knowledge and experience using a range of digital communications tools, social media and emerging platforms to produce, create, edit and publish high-quality multimedia content.
  • Experience managing external suppliers and contracts to commission development work and multimedia content.
  • Experience championing continuous digital learning, demonstrating commitment to high standards and leading by example.
